To commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Rudy's Music in 2018, Rudy visited the Martin factory and hand-selected 13 gorgeous, strikingly different pieces of tone wood to be used for a limited run of some very special Custom Shop guitars. He wanted to create something simple but stunning, something unique but still traditional to also reflect what we love most from America’s oldest guitar maker.
Each guitar was numbered and hand-signed by both Rudy and Christian Frederick Martin IV. Specs include a stunning Adirondack spruce top paired with cocobolo back and sides (the other tonewood used for half of this limited run was Guatemalan "Rare Rose" rosewood). The guitar has a 1 3/4" nut width and a 25.4" scale. Maple binding and a deluxe headstock veneer bring everything together. The beauty of these instruments makes them worthy of the finest collector’s treasure trove, and their playability and tone is unmatched. Rudy is extremely proud of these guitars and is thrilled to share them with you.
This particular instrument is #8 of 13. The guitar is used but is in great shape, with normal light playwear and minor surface scratches throughout, but no major dings or dents. Serial #217759. Comes with a deluxe hardshell case.
