Rudy met Irvin Guitars owner and luthier, Wayne Irvin Johnson, at the Artisan Guitar Show in 2024 and was instantly drawn to his work. Having seen and played countless guitars in his 45 years in the business, Rudy was inspired by the unique shape and design of these instruments, which do not disappoint in terms of build-quality and tone. Based in Washington state, Johnson studied Luthiery primarily with master builder Sergei De Jonge. He was also strongly influenced by James Olson, best known for building James Taylor's guitars.
One of 4 models offered by Irvin Guitars, the Irvin Signature Parlor is an either 12-fret or 14-fret to the body, small-bodied guitar. (This particular model is a 14-fret version.) An incredibly comfortable guitar to play, designed for tremendous clarity on every note up and down the entire fretboard. Lots of volume and beautiful sustain.
This guitar was built with a Western Red cedar top, and gorgeous highly figured Claro walnut for the back and sides. Comes with a Crossrock hardshell case.
