In 2021, we had the pleasure of restoring and selling an incredible 1954 Fender Stratocaster, made in the first 1000 serial numbers of production, with a sassafras body and and incredible, and large, early 50's style neck.
Now, we're partnering with the Fender Custom Shop to recreate the glory of that guitar, as well as a whole series of the vintage Fender guitars we know and love, combining modern playability with vintage vibe, and trying to recreate these guitars as they would have left the factory in their original production year.
This guitar, like the original, has a sassafras body, a maple neck, and a glorious nitrocellulose two-toned sunburst finish. It's incredibly light, and the grain in the sassafras is almost unbelievable, and has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
The neck, with a much more playable 9.5" radius and 6105 Narrow Tall wire, is a larger U shape that feels like the necks from the early 50's that players have come to know and love. The stark white color is accurate to how a Stratocaster would have left the factory in 1955.
The pickups are AlNiCo '54 Strat Custom Shops, and are incredibly sweet and punchy, while still retaining the clarity 50's pickups are known for. The electronics have the earlier 50's style wiring, but with a 5-way switch for added usability.
As is the case with the original '54 Strats, the pickguard is single ply, and the bridge is an incredibly stable and comfortable chrome hardtail that adds even more sustain and punch to this already resonant guitar.
Now is the time to grab a piece of recreated Fender history!
Serial #R132903 comes with a gorgeous Custom Shop tweed case.
