In 2021, we had the pleasure of restoring and selling an incredible 1954 Fender Stratocaster, made in the first 1000 serial numbers of production, with a sassafras body and and incredible, and large, early 50's style neck.
Now, we're partnering with the Fender Custom Shop to recreate the glory of that guitar, as well as a whole series of the vintage Fender guitars we know and love, combining modern playability with vintage vibe, and trying to recreate these guitars as they would have left the factory in their original production year.
This example, a 1962 style Stratocaster in a beautiful Lake Placid Blue, one of the more popular alternative colors of the time, is meant to be a modern fusion of vintage style/sound with modern accessibility, most notably with:
- 9.5" radius, 5-way switch, and 6105 Narrow Tall fretwire.
-Gorgeous alder body
-"Slab" rosewood fretboard
-Vintage Kluson style tuners
-Vintage style tremolo and
-60's style Custom Shop hand-wound pickups.
The neck is an extremely comfortable C shape, very much reminiscent of its vintage counterparts.
Fans of Strats might notice two big things: the white guard and the stark white neck, both of which we're used to seeing in their aged, faded form (green and amber respectively), but we've had them recreated here as if you've just bought a new Strat for the first time in 1962, brand new to you. Imagine what it must have been like taking home your brand new Fender Stratocaster (then strung with flatwounds!) for the first time, having no idea what to expect. That's the feeling we're trying to capture. Comes with a Fender Custom Shop hardshell case.
