Schecter 1983 Strat-Style Seafoam Green, Owned by Jack Sonni (played at Live Aid 1985 concert)
We are honored to offer Jack Sonni's famous Seafoam Green Schecter Strat for sale here at Rudy’s Music. For any Dire Straits fan, the name Jack Sonni is synonymous with the band's success. He was the guitarist onstage with Mark Knopfler during arguably their best era and contributed to their most successful album, Brothers in Arms.
This guitar was played by Jack on the Brothers In Arms album which featured the mega-hit "Money for Nothing." Jack also used it on stage during Dire Straits' set at the famous 1985 Live Aid anti-hunger benefit concert at Wembley Stadium in London.
This Schecter was built in 1983 and modified by Jack to his spec preference: he had a modern Emerson wiring harness and Fralin Blues Special pickup set installed. The body and neck remain the original '83 Schecter build. The lacquer has aged beautifully with some checking throughout and a slightly yellow tint to the clearcoat. It comes with a non-original hardshell case. This guitar has been well-documented and was inspected by Rudy himself as well as our in-house techs. Please see photos for reference of Sonni with this guitar during his career.
