This lovely D'Angelico mandolin is a beautiful instrument in excellent condition. Rudy bought it about 30 years ago simply because he loved it. We aren't primarily mandolin dealers, but Rudy is very passionate about John D'Angelico's instruments, so he wanted to have this mando in his collection. He was actually contacted by a family member of the original owner, who was named Alfredo D'Agostino (see personal photos included in case). The mandolin has been in Rudy's possession ever since.
The instrument is in excellent condition and plays beautifully. It's a wonderful example of D'Angelico's work; this particular model features the same headstock design as his archtops. The tone is very sweet, with a bit of a vintage vibe. The mandolin came fitted with a DeArmond pickup.
Comes with its original hardshell Lifton case bound in leather, with the original owner's initials on it.
