The Martin 0-18K is a small-bodied, 12-fret model made with solid Hawaiian koa. In response to the Hawaiian music fad of the '20s, Martin simply used the 0-18 style and replaced the spruce and mahogany tonewoods with imported koa. This example is in fantastic condition, especially considering that the instrument is almost 100 years old. There are a few marks on the treble side upper bout, and minor scratches from use around the body and neck. This little gem offers a pleasantly warm sound; koa is known to be similar to mahogany, but with more presence and highs.
This guitar has had a neck reset, bridge reset, has been refretted with period correct bar frets, and has a replaced ebony nut.
