The 1929 00 50th Anniversary model was inspired by the all-Mahogany of the Great Depression and has an authentic vintage character. Santa Cruz explains that many of the specs are accurate to the original guitars made in the late 20s, including the Ebony pyramid bridge, scalloped bracing and Ivoroid accents, just to list a few. A gloss natural finish highlights the beautiful grain pattern in the Mahogany used to construct this guitar. The back of the neck, in contrast, has a matte finish and it plays wonderfully. This difference in finish is ideal for players who want their guitar to look gorgeous and glossy, while maintaining the effortless playability offered up by a satin-finished neck. Joining the body at the 12th fret, the Mahogany neck is paired with an Ebony fretboard, which is yet another vintage accurate spec. The headstock is adorned by an Ebony veneer, Ebony tuner buttons, and a vintage-style script logo. The number "50" is inlaid in the neck heel of this instrument, celebrating the brand's half-century in business.
