A pre-Norlin ES-335, this '68 is very desirable ands in excellent shape. The late '60s still have that classic Cherry lacquer finish, and early T-Top pickups offer a clarity and shine not found on PAF's or pickups that would follow. It sounds great and is arguably Gibson's most versatile model ever made.
This example has had a refret, replaced nut, with original patent sticker pickups that have previously been out of the guitar but appear to be original, with two dowels installed in the neck joint pickup pocket. The guitar has not had a neck reset and the heel finish is untouched, we are not sure the purpose of the dowels but it is structurally sound. Serial #603664, comes with the original case.
