The often overlooked brother of the L-5, the Gibson L-7 model has much of the same sound minus some of the frills. The solid, carved spruce top mixed with the solid maple back and sides offers a truly acoustic archtop sound, perfect with bronze strings and the 17" body size is a perfect blend. Cosmetically this guitar is in great shape, with wear and checking throughout but no cracks or major repairs. It has a loud and beautiful attack, perfect for loud projection jazz chords. This example has had some finish work done, with the neck refinished black and clear overspray to the entire body. There appears to be no signs of a headstock break however. Other repairs include a refret and a replaced nut. This guitar has a longer scale and a full 1 11/16"The original pickguard is off-gassing and is included, but we do not recommend placing it back on. Serial #97415, comes with a non original but vintage case.
