Gibson 1953 Southern Jumbo
These early '50s dreadnoughts are absolutely out of this world, with a unmistakable woody, dry tone that only old and played in tonewood can achieve. This '53 SJ came in and sounds as great as you'd expect, with a powerful low end and balanced tone. A 'upgraded' J-45 at the time, the SJ featured fancier inlay and binding. This particular guitar has had some great TLC and is all set to go with a clean bill of health.
This example has had a neck reset, crack by pickguard has been repaired, reglued bridge and replaced saddle. It features a large C neck .887"/1st and .984"/9th. Serial #Y508835, comes with the original case. Please refer to the provided photos for more detail on the condition of this instrument. As with all of our vintage listings, included is a vintage spec sheet which details any repairs & changes of note.
