A sibling to the SG standard, the Special has its place in Gibson's catalog as a professional instrument without the flash of a full standard. P-90's, bound neck, dot inlay, wrap around bridge, it all comes together to make a lightweight, resonant machine! Has a slimmer '61 neck, with full 1 11/16" nut width. Pot codes date to 20th week of 1960. This example is all original, with the only note of the ground solder point on bottom of the neck pickup has been resoldered. Light overspray to a few spots on the body, comes with a non-original vintage hardshell case.
