Martin 1977 D-28, Shadetop
More of a rare bird these days, Shadetop D-28's were made few and far between. They have a distinct burst to the top unlike any other acoustic maker of their time. This one has a great sound, while not the loudest it certainly can hold its own and has a more midrange quality than other D-28's we've played, veering into D-18 territory. It's a great value being a nearly 50 year old Martin, with recent restoration done to make it gig or tour ready. This example has had a recent neck reset, refret and center seam and pickguard crack repaired. The bridge has been reglued and a has a new saddle. Serial #329121, comes with the original case.Â
