We are very fortunate to have two beautiful personal instruments of John Monteleone's for sale at our shop right now. This guitar is the Monteleone semi-solid body ELECTRO model, serial #327.
The body and neck are made of Honduran mahogany which was chambered and capped with a highly-figured domestic curly red maple. The binding is made from a very old and highly figured red maple. All external wooden parts, pickup surrounds knobs, back plate and pickguard, are made of Macassar ebony. The pickups are Lollar Imperials. All metal parts are gold plated.
This guitar is the only existing example of this experimental model. John told us that it was a fun, personal one-off project which he did as an exercise in making a lighter-weight, semi-solid body electric guitar. John said it's likely not to be repeated, so this may be the only one there will be.
The instrument is in excellent condition, as one might expect from one of the most acclaimed luthiers in the world who built it and kept it for a while to enjoy.
Comes with its original hardshell case.
