Gibson 1951 Southern Jumbo
Essentially a spruced up J-45, the SJ model from Gibson offered a more deluxe appointment to a classic dreadnought shape and sound. The mid-range heavy spruce & mahogany is on full display here, with easy playability thanks to Gibson's short scale length. This particular SJ has a remarkable sound, taking off with the lightest touch. It's well worn in to let you know its a really good one, perfectly broken in after decades of making music!
This example has replaced later 50's era tuners and a replaced bridge pih. Serial #7026_23, comes with a non original tweed case. Please refer to the provided photos for more detail on the condition of this instrument. As with all of our vintage listings, included is a vintage spec sheet which details any repairs & changes of note.
