We are thrilled to have such an exquisite guitar in the shop from one of Europe's greatest guitar builders: Nik Huber. Expertly crafted in Rodgeau, Germany by the highly skilled luthiers at Nik Huber guitars, this preowned Orca model is an exceptional guitar.
Nik Huber operates under a core belief system of building “‘better, better, better,’ not ‘more, more, more.’” Today, Huber’s team only produces around 350 instruments a year, each crafted to the same high standard. This particular model is even more rare today, as Orca guitars are no longer sold directly to the U.S. market and thus can only be obtained here second-hand.
The highly-figured, almost dizzying bookmatched burl maple top is further brought to life by the ultra-thin Hierbas Yellow finish. The mahogany neck and body have been finished in a satin-nitro open pore natural finish, which looks and feels excellent. The neck heel joint has been recessed and sculpted to provide effortless access to the higher frets. The body has also been chambered and is extremely lightweight. The classy bookmatched maple is employed once again on the headstock veneer.
This guitar has only had one owner, who chose to customize the build with the following details: the ebony fretboard (standard to the model is East Indian rosewood), and the Crown style inlays in Mother of Pearl outlined in Sterling Silver (standard inlays are Abalone dots). The result is a one-of-a-kind, gorgeous tone machine that will stun the eyes and ears with its intense beauty. Come play it at our Scarsdale shop to see what we're raving about.
