The Fender Jaguar, originally intended to be the pinnacle of Fender's line of electrics, had enjoyed a long and understated career as the unappreciated step-sister of the Fender family. Well, these shorter scaled, switch heavy, chromed out beauties are having a bit of a heyday, as they are being picked up by known musicians worldwide and given their due respect, as is well deserved: these guitars are great.

This particular example has been stripped of its finish by a previous owner, a common thing to have happen in the 1960's. Originally the common sunburst finish, the stripped examples are a great way to get into vintage Fenders at a reasonable price.

This guitar plays great, and besides the finish and a single piece of wire (replacing a broken strand), everything else is all original. The neck is a comfortable smaller C, with a gorgeous slab (very rare for early '62) rosewood fingerboard, and the pickups are great, warm, and very transparent. Slab boards were only available very early in 1962, and make this guitar pretty special.

The body has a few nicks and dings and the applied sealer is a little gnarly, but it adds to the character. The bridge cover is not included. Serial #78785 comes with the original hard shell case.
