1989 saw the Fender Stratocaster's 35th Anniversary celebrated with a limited production run of 500 custom made, spec'd out strats constructed by the (then) almost new Fender Custom Shop. That was back when the idea of a "high-end" Stratocaster was more revolutionary than it is now.
This incredibly beautiful guitar has all the fun upgrades one might want: an ebony board on a curly maple neck, a gorgeous quilted maple top on an alder body, a Clapton-style mid boost circuit, and locking tuners for a two point Free Flyte tremolo for all your '80s dive bomb needs. This guitar also features 3 Silver Lace Sensor pickups, a hallmark of '90s guitar luxury with their wider sensor range and futuristic style. The preamp in this guitar has been replaced by our techs at Rudy's Music in Soho. The guitar originally had a Fender midboost kit; we've installed an updated version of that same system, made by Fender.
Truly a one-of-a-kind (well, one of 500) piece.
