The Gibson Custom Shop "Murphy Lab", named for Custom Shop guru and partial founder Tom Murphy, painstakingly recreates the very best of Gibson's vintage offerings, from the build, parts, finish, all the way down to the tiniest bit of rust and dirt. These guitars stand a foot above the competition as the closest thing to a vintage Gibson you can get without spending an unearthly fortune.

This Murphy Lab 1957 Reissue Les Paul Custom is an incredible example of the detail oriented prowess of this select group of builders and agers, and is absolutely beautiful. Old Gibson nitro has a particular look to it that is hard to replicate, and this guitar has that look. The checking is a really interesting pattern, having some verticality to it that is rare but has been seen in a number of vintage guitars. This guitar also captures the way that the black finish on the Customs tends to check in larger sections than the Standards did.

This guitar comes with Gibson's Custombucker pickups, for authentic PAF tone, as well as gorgeous gold hardware, a solid mahogany body and neck, and a beautiful ebony board with Block inlays. The neck is a comfortable, but large '57 shape that feels incredible. This guitar is in essentially new condition.Serial #7 22156 comes with the original hardshell case.

Weight - 8.90 lbs.
