A rare Fender model, the Esquire Custom was a unique offering at the time, deluxe in appointments but still a single bridge pickup. With a sunburst finish and bound body, the Esquire Custom is a cool if not quirky blend of specs for the time. This example is a mix of '69/'72 parts, which include a 1969 neck and a 1972 Fender body. The pickup is dated '72 and this guitar has pot codes dated 42nd week of 1966. It is in great shape with normal playwear for a guitar of its age. The gloss finish has held up well with not much color change yet not as thick a finish as later 70's gloss finishes tend to be.
