Continuing our ongoing love affair with Fender Offsets from the 50's and 60's, this 1966 Jazzmaster is about the perfect player example- all original except for a new nut, replaced output jack and a refret, this guitar plays and sounds great, and doesn't command prices as high as its Pre-CBS counterparts.

Dated in very early 1966, this guitar has the archetypal severe late 60's Three Tone Sunburst, but, interestingly enough, is in the very narrow sliver of guitars that have both binding and dot inlays, (instead of blocks, corroborating with the neck date that the guitar was built in late '65 but wired in '66) making it a much rarer piece than its other '66 compatriots. This guitar has the larger CBS headstock.

Visually, it's in great condition, with the body being mildly but very pleasantly worn in, and a couple dings on each of the bouts, as is common with old Fenders, as is the buckle rash on the back. The refretted Rosewood board plays incredibly well, and most likely is an older refret.

Minus the output jack, the electronics are all original, although the middle position is not humbucking, a factory defect due to both pickups being the same polarity. All the switches and pots are clean and work great.

Serial #145688 comes with the original tolex hardshell case.
