1968 marked the return of the Les Paul to Gibson's lineup, as a reissue not of the more popular Burst model, but of the P90'd Goldtop guitars from earlier in the decade. This trend moved into the 1970's, and in '71 or '72, the earlier wraparound tailpiece style Les Paul was reissued as well, with solid mahogany bodies and one piece necks, and P90 pickups stamped with the Gibson Logo.

This particular guitar is all original, and is in great condition, with only a little bit of oxidization on the gold where the normal amount of arm wear would be. The hardware has a decent amount of pitting, but not an unreasonable amount for a guitar of this age.

The neck is a slimmer, more 70's style profile, but has a great feel that would make most Les Paul players happier than a massive 50's style neck. The frets are low, but original, and play great, as well as the incredible looking rosewood fretboard. The gold color is particularly vibrant, and has a great, authentic 50's look.

This guitar does, unfortunately, smell like tobacco, as it was kept in a heavy smoking house, but we are keeping it in an environment that will help to alleviate that. Serial #683621 comes with the original hardshell case.
