A beautiful instrument by the great classical guitar luthier Manuel Contreras, showcasing the characteristic sound of the Madrid school. Contreras—once an apprentice of José Ramírez III—established his own workshop at Calle Mayor 80 in 1962, beginning a prolific career that would place him among the most revered luthiers in Spain. Alongside his deep respect for tradition, he also experimented with innovative designs and techniques, enriching the tonal palette and expressive potential of his instruments.

Rudy absolutely loves this builder and is thrilled to have this guitar in the shop. This example is in excellent condition, with only minimal signs of wear—the previous owner has taken exceptional care of it! Tonally, it delivers everything you’d expect from a top-tier Madrid-style classical: warmth, clarity, strong projection, and a beautifully balanced response across the strings.

Visually, it features gorgeous Brazilian rosewood back and sides paired with a lovely Alpine spruce top. A truly inspiring instrument for the serious classical guitarist or collector. Comes with a hardshell case.
