Benoit Lavoie is an independent luthier based in the Quebec province of Canada, who Rudy met at the Woodstock Luthier Festival some years ago. Benoit makes incredible archtop guitars using the finest tone woods.
The Benoit #146 is made with a German spruce top that includes offset x-braces, Honduras rosewood on the back, sides, bridge, tailpiece and headstock. The flamed maple neck reinforced with 4 carbon rod, and stainless steel frets, for an extremely stable design that allows for consistent playabilty.
This instrument features a 1 3/4 nut, a 25.5" scale length, and a slimmer D neck profile, making for an incredibly playable instrument that is lively in the hand.
An incredible example of Benoit's craftsmanship, this guitar has a pronounced, heavy low end and shimmering highs in a design made to benefit the player. Serial #146 comes with a hardshell case.
