Carvin, founded by extremely respected luthier and designer Lowell Keisel, has been known for years for their quality instruments made for players that tended towards a heavier style of music, though not exclusively.

The LB-70, one of a couple mainstay models offered by the builder in the 80's/90's, is a J bass style bass that came in a plethora of styles, from different woods, colors, even pickup configurations. Every single bass is different, as the buyer could pick and choose their own specs at will. This leads to difficulty in categorizing and identifying these basses, but to our best degree of research, we've landed on these specs:

A three piece maple body, passive J bass style pickups with blend, volume and EQ controls, an ebony fingerboard, Carvin brand key-style tuners, a Gotoh aftermarket bridge, and clear polyurethane finish.

This bass is in great condition, with a minimal amount of scratches, etc. There is string wear on the fingerboard from previous players using roundwound strings. Everything works great.

Serial #34186 comes with a non original hard shell case.
