Jimmy D'Aquisto, one of the most respected guitar makers of all time, has had a lasting impact on the world of Jazz guitar that has far exceeded his unfortunately brief lifetime. An apprentice of John D'Angelico, Jimmy drew from decades of New York based archtop building to create some of the most sought after guitars of all time. Only building 257 archtop guitars in his career, Jimmy's guitars are regarded as some of the highest quality archtops ever made, and are collectable to reflect their rarity.

This New Yorker, produced with an oval hole instead of F holes, is a rare sight from Jimmy, with this example being the 10th of only 11 oval hole archtops he ever built.

As with most guitars from D'Aquisto, this one is in pristine condition, surviving from its birth on the 30th of January, 1988 all the way until now with barely any marks at all. The spruce top is as shiny as the day it left the spray booth, and the gorgeous flame maple sides are translucently beautiful as ever.

The ebony bridge, pickguard, tailpiece, and board all come from a collection of Martin's more colorful woods, bought by John Monteleone and Jimmy in the late 20th century.

This is a truly historic guitar, and would be an unbelievable addition to any collection or the right guitar for a discerning player. With Jimmy's signature on the inside, the legacy of this legendary builder will live on with the next owner of this masterpiece. Serial #1204 comes with a hardshell case.
