Attention Beatles fans, we have just the guitar for you! In the shop we see lots of amazing vintage guitars, but it's not everyday that such an iconic model walks in our doors! This 1967 Gretsch model no. 6122 Country Gentleman is in excellent shape and has quickly become a favorite of our employees here in our Scarsdale shop. Although the Country Gentleman is a Chet Atkins signature model, it is perhaps more popularly associated with George Harrison. Equipped with original bridge and neck Filter'Tron pickups, factory gold hardware, and even a factory Gretsch-branded Bigsby vibrato system. The original frets show wear but are still very playable.

Dating vintage Gretsch guitars can sometimes be tricky. Serial numbers used to be shown on the front plate of the headstock, but when Gretsch serial numbers appear on the back of the headstock they are date-coded. This guitar's serial number, #47415, would denote a build date of April of 1967, with this particular example being the 415th guitar to come out of the factory line in that month.

This double-cutaway beauty features a maple top, back, and sides with a stunning original walnut finish, paired with an ebony fingerboard and maple neck. The classic 1 5/8" nut width provides comfortable playability, and the original tuners and hardware show just the right amount of patina. While this example is in excellent overall condition for its age, it is missing the original flip-up string mute — an often-lost part on vintage examples — but all other key features remain intact and original.

Whether you're a collector, a stage performer, or simply a fan of vintage Gretsch tone and style, this instrument is a timeless piece of guitar history.
