Just about as close to a closet example as they get these days, this '61 Strat is everything you'd expect. First off is the finish, which is in remarkable shape, with a distinct red burst to the middle. Many times the red hue is the first to go, leaving sunburst strats with a black and yellow finish, but this example has clearly been treated well and not overexposed to the sun. Next is the absolutely perfect neck, which is a joy to play. Not to big and not too slim, the '61 Strat neck is often replicated but nothing beats the real deal.
Cosmetically this example is in great shape with the most serious wear shown in the photos. Original 3-way switch is fully functional. The middle pickup has been professionally rewound, the pots are dated to the 43rd week of 1961. Serial #71964, comes with the original case and some accessories, all shown in the photos.
