In the year 1931, Epiphone introduced a full line of f-hole equipped archtop guitars to their catalogue called the "Masterbilt" series. Near the top of this new line of instruments sat the Epiphone De Luxe model, a 17 3/8" archtop guitar with a carved spruce top and maple back and sides. Other aesthetic features included the script logo, flowered headstock, and elegant "cloud" inlays, all of which contributed to that signature 1930s Epiphone beauty and mystique. When it comes to vintage acoustic archtops, the mid-range and tonal clarity of this one is second to none.
Modifications to this guitar include a replaced pickguard, replaced binding, replaced tuners (the Waverlys on this guitar work perfectly and look great), and a professional refret. This guitar comes with a non-original hardshell case.
