Gibson 1965 ES-125CD, Sunburst
A quite rare model, the ES-125 was revamped once more in 1965 to be a full depth archtop, with a cutaway making it an affordable alternative to the ES-175. The result was the ES-125CD, only offered for a few years and in much smaller production numbers than other ES models. The first year examples featured a full wooden bridge, and a striking cherry sunburst (this one has a surprisingly highly flamed maple top). A swapped Wolftone PAF replica humbucker in the neck position really brings out the best in this jazzbox, elevating it to a ES-175 style of sound. This example has had most parts changed over the years but remains an amazing option for a jazz player looking for a 60's Gibson archtop.
