A real original blackguard, this 1954 Fender Esquire is equal parts a part of history as a rock and roll machine. 1954 was a transitional year for Fender as they went from blackguard pickguards to the the whiteguard pickguards. The 3-way selector switch goes from a bass cut to tone added to the circuit to the bridge pickup straight into the output jack.
