A part of archtop history, the Gibson L-5 stands as a tried and true tool for any serious jazz guitarist. The 17" solid, carved spruce top and maple back and sides help make it into a real pro level guitar. This particular example was made in '53, and it features the original Alnico 'staple' pickups, a highly desirable single coil design only found on Gibson guitars for a few years. This example has had a refret, replaced nut, and replaced pickguard but remains original besides that. It is in great condition with lacquer checking, and normal wear for a guitar of this age. Serial #A14435, comes with a non original case.
