Canadian builder William "Grit" Laskin is the illustrious creator of this custom beauty. Known for his incredible inlay work, Laskin appointed this classical guitar from 2001 with an absolutely stunning headstock inlay based off an original sketch of a sculptor and their creation as well as a cupid spanning the first 3 frets based on a drawing by Boticelli. The guitar itself is also beautifully appointed, using premium grade Cedar for the top, highly flamed maple back and sides, ornate stitch pattern rosette, multi-ply wood binding, smooth acting banjo style tuners, and the signature Laskin armrest this instrument is in a class all on its own. The action is nice and low and the sound is heavenly with a rich bass on the lower strings and sweet highs with remarkable sustain.
For reference, Grit Laskin's current price for a classical guitar build starts at $20,800. On top of the base price, this guitar's inlay work alone would cost $7,000 on a custom build today.
