James "Jimmy" D'Aquisto died on April 18, 1995 on a trip to Corona, CA to visit Fender guitars. He left behind an incredible legacy, a dedicated base of customers, and two half finished guitars that had already been bought and paid for.

The already signed and mostly finished guitars, two Centuras, were left hanging in the spray booth of Jimmy's New York shop, waiting for a final assembly that ostensibly was never to come.

Jimmy's widow worked with John Monteleone to finish building the appointments (bridge, tailpiece, pickguard) and final finish work, to bring the two guitars to life. Out of respect, Jimmy's name was never added to the headstock, as he didn't see it through to the end. Nevertheless, Jimmy's craftsmanship lives on through this magnificent guitar, and it's seen from everything from the cut of the spruce top, to the selection of the flame maple for the back and sides.

Jimmy's signature is on the inside, dated only two months before his untimely death.

This guitar is in Rudy's personal collection, and is not for sale at this time.
