Famed blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa has collaborated with Gibson on a number of occasions to re-create guitars from his extensive and famous collection, and this gorgeous Firebird 1, nicknamed "Treasure" after its namesake original 1963 Firebird, with rare single pickup configuration.
The "Treasure" Firebird-I features a Mahogany body with a 9-piece Laminated Mahogany/Walnut neck with a period-correct early 1960s Rounded “C” profile measured after Joe’s original. Epiphone improved on the vintage neck design by including a dual action adjustable truss rod.
The neck has a Rosewood fingerboard with a 14” radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, classic “Dot” inlays, and a 24.75” scale length. The “Treasure” Firebird-I comes in two color finishes, a classic Tobacco Sunburst and Polymist Gold, and this one is a gorgeous example of their Tobacco Sunburst.
This guitar feaures a ProBucker FB720 pickup, reconstructed to the original specifications of Gibson Firebird pickups from the mid 60s.
This guitar is in great condition, with the body, neck and finish in general being in almost new condition. The only noticeable signs of use are some discoloration on the tailpiece and pickup. This example has been marked a factory 2nd on the back of the headstock.
Serial #1610200896 comes with a non-original Hardshell case.
