Though Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's career (and life) was unfortunately short, his lasting impact on the world of rock and grunge guitar is almost endless, with many players' first songs learned being Nirvana for decades at this point.
So, if you're looking for the ultimate way to get into the 90's Seattle grunge world, look no further than the Road Worn 'Kurt Cobain' Jaguar. This guitar, made in Mexico in the fondly remembered "Road Worn" series, is a direct homage to Kurt's highly modified 1965 Fender Jaguar, with all of its added/removed switches, modified humbuckers, and beat up body present. A mainstay of the "Nevermind" era, the Jaguar was probably Kurt's most prominent instrument.
Each of the many modifications is present in Fender's recreation here: The regular Jaguar single coils had been swapped for DiMarzio humbuckers, with a PAF in the neck position and a DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge.
A three-position toggle, rather than a trio of Jaguar slide-switches, control the pickups. The toggle was mounted on the switch plate on the treble horn, and an extra volume pot had been added to the control section, controlling each pickup separately. The Jaguar and Jazzmaster style rhythm circuit has been left intact, giving players an extra level of flexibility.
Like the original, the bridge has been replaced with a black Gotoh tune-o-matic style bridge, and the tuners are black Schaller style Gotoh tuners. The fretboard is Rosewood, something not seen on Mexican Fenders for nearly two decades until 2023 again.
This guitar is basically in original condition, and genuinely feels like a vintage Jaguar.
Serial #MX14486305 comes with the original hardshell case.
