Designed by auto designer Ray Deitrich, the Firebird is one of Gibson's most futuristic designs, taking inspiration from the winged cars of the day, with its swooping auto tail-esque design carrying the design language from that era that evokes speed, power, and elegance. Well, the Firebird sure is powerful, with this example from 2004 having a great, punchy, mini-humbucker tone that cuts through any mix and makes itself known.
This guitar has wine red nitrocellulose lacquer, a rosewood fretboard, chrome hardware and black mirror knobs.
These guitars have nine piece sandwiched necks that extend through the mahogany bodies, making for an even more resonant guitar than usual. This guitar is in good condition, with a buckle rash on the back, and marks here and there on the front.
Serial #02814645 comes with the original hardshell case.
