This is most likely a 1990 Gibson Explorer '76, the main production model of Gibson Explorers, except this one's been through the ringer and back and come out victorious!
There's a laundry list of stuff that's been changed: this guitar has been re-topped with flame maple to look like the CMT Explorer's of the 80's, the dot inlays have been routed out and replaced with MOP squares, the guitar has been double bound, the back of the headstock has been oversprayed, the pickups have been replaced with modern Seymour Duncan humbuckers, and the electronics have been replaced.
This guitar has a maple cap, a mahogany body and neck, a rosewood fingerboard, chrome hardware, and Seymour Duncan pickups.
Despite all of these changes, this guitar is ridiculously playable and it sounds great. Sometimes when something has fought for its life, it comes back twice as strong, and that's definitely true with this guitar.
Serial #93200747 comes with a hardshell case.
