George Benson rose to prominence in his teenage years as a child prodigy of Jazz, R&B and Soul, and in 1977, worked hand in hand with Ibanez to develop a Signature model of, a first for Ibanez, that was the amalgamation of a few different styles. The result? The Ibanez GB10.
All examples, as does this example from 1989, have a thinline, smaller sized, yet fully hollow body, leading to a smooth and woody tone that's sure to appease any jazz, soul, or R&B player. This particular model has a bone nut, 50's style speed knobs, gold Gotoh tuners, mother of pearl and abalone inlays, an ebony bridge, and the signature adjustable tension tailpiece, allowing for player specific feel preferences and greater stability.
This guitar has a fair amount of wear, with a decent amount of gold plating missing, and corrosion on the metal parts. The finish is in good condition, albeit with a decent amount of scratching on the headstock and a chunk of finish missing on the lower bout by the input jack.
